Our students deserve to be in fully-equipped classrooms. There are classrooms in SUHSD that still do not have heating or functional screen projectors. Some high schools in our district have had portable classrooms for decades without plans for the construction of a permanent school building.
Bridging the education gap starts by improving the state of our academic facilities and equipment. The jobs of the 21st-century require up-to-date knowledge that our facilities simply do not provide. Providing students with adequate facilities is also a essential for bridging the educational resource gap within our district's schools.
Most money in the district's budget is already encumbered but there are innovative ways for the district to fund facility upgrades.
