José Barajas

Student, Small Business Owner

I am a first-generation college student and high school graduate. I was raised in Salinas and attended our local schools: Salinas High, El Sausal Middle, and Roosevelt Elementary.  Upon my high school graduation, I attended Oral Roberts University, majoring in International Relations and I am now transferring to American Military University to complete my undergraduate studies in International Relations and Global Security.

While at Oral Roberts University, I served in various leadership roles on several campus clubs, I was the Head Delegate for the Model United Nations team for two years and also served as the campus liaison for two campus organizations. I had the great opportunity to intern for the United Nations Association of Eastern Oklahoma and the Latin Advocacy Network.

As a young businessman, I have further developed: negotiation skills, fiscal accountability, and a responsibility to my community. My time as a business owner has made me more pragmatic and responsive to the needs of people.

I humbly ask for your support this November 3rd, 2020.

"Education is for improving the lives of others and for leaving your community and world better than you found it."
